It's April, and with things finally warming up, let's get together for food and to talk shop!

Thankful that the rain has let up, the sun is out, and it is warm in Oakland! We're finishing up a fantastic resin-inlayed desk inspired by turn-of-the-century safe locks and a whole mess of fun trade booth elements for Clif Bar's kids line. We also have a handful of office interiors gearing up that look like they're gonna be a lot of fun. And our Maker Faire talk on the secrets of secret doors was accepted! So now we need to hear all your secret door stories and/or dreams.

What are you working on? We'd like to see and hear about it!

So please drop on by, we'd love to see you. Sadly, Jeffrey has been too busy to make beer, so while we'll have some it would be awesome if you could bring some too. We'll hang out. The weather is warming up, and it's February! So let's have a crab boil and talk shop.

It's our first EatFoodTalkShop of 2011, and we're excited for the new year! We've got lots going on, and would love to catch up with you. We're doing it in style this month with a big crab boil. We'll have some live crab on hand, you should bring one to share, or some other goodies, and we'll break into the pumpkin homebrew.

We've been busy redoing our digs, and have turned the downstairs entry space into a cozy and relaxing 'meeting library / lounge' complete with lovely new bookshelf benches. We've also recently redone our website, and are turning ourselves into a corporation so that we can offer up more Architectural services. Lots to show and talk about.

It's time for our regular 2nd-Thursday-of-the-month open house / project salon / OMGBBQWTF called EatFoodTalkShop! We're celebrating the fifth birthday of the beloved robot that changed our lives, launched our business, and has made many wonderful things for us all. I don't know what five is in robot years, but he's well deserving of praise for reaching an important milestone. So we're getting him a cake, and letting him blow out the candles (but NOT cut it).

From finally finishing up our big move, to our great new fabrication studio & offices, to Jeffrey's passing his orals for his Architect license, to this fine hot summer that seems to finally have arrived... Boy we have so much to celebrate we're bursting at the seams!

So please drop by and help us eat food, drink libations, and share project stories. We'll be showing off our recently finished project: our new digs! Frank's got upgrades, our new office rocks, and the fabrication studio is all setup for fast production.

It's that time again for the Because We Can open house! Whoohoo!
We've been busy since the last one, and we have lots of stuff to show off.
But the most fun will be going through all our product prototypes that didnt work out!

We'll have a pile of stuff to see and a pile of stuff to buy! Think: Ray Guns, Trees & Robots.

It's time for another *Eat Food Talk Shop!*

This is a monthly event where we get together and eat food and talk shop!

Come to our Office & Shop in Oakland and enjoy BBQ and libations while we casually talk about what we are working on next.

There is no stage, and no formal presentations. If you are a maker: please feel free to bring a project to show off. We'll simply pin a name tag on you and set you loose into the wild of the crowd.
We talk about everything from what kind of finish to use on wood, to how to fiberglass your car, to running a small business and making beer.

This event attracts people across multiple disciplines, and we hope it attracts you too!

It's time for our Monthly EAT FOOD TALK SHOP!

It's kinda like a Dorkbot / Meetup / Maker Day / pechakucha but with BBQ & beer and a little more show-and-tell-free-for-all and no slideshows (thank god).

Bring something to share and something to show off, or at least the desire to talk to other folks who make stuff!

We don't have a video projector (yet), so if you need one to show off what you brought then you'll need to bring your own. We do have access to a forklift now, so if what you've got to show is really heavy we've got you covered.

Bring your friends too! Seriously! Please come! It's our monthly Open House!

We'll have some food and beer and 60's funk music and cool stuff to show off to help get things started.

The next one is FRIDAY, December 12th, it's holiday themed, and starts at 6:30 PM at our shop:

1722 15th Street, Suite C, Oakland CA 94607. Walk through the gate with the big wooden robot-cutout (decorated for x-mas) and we're down a bit and on the left. Huge roll-up door and Red '67 Dodge van. Can't miss us.

There's plenty of parking, 2 grills, a big robot, x-mas decorations, a stand-up vintage 'Toobin' video game, and a fire pit.

November EatFoodTalkShop is upon us tomorrow, November 13th, 2008!

It's kinda like a Dorkbot / Meetup / Mini-Maker Day / Pecha Kucha but with BBQ & beer and a little more fabrication-focused.

Bring something to share and something to show off (or at least some ideas or questions to talk about).

Bring your friends too! Honestly! We've had a number of folks show up that heard about it from our Blog. So don't be shy, drop on by!

We'll have some food and beer and cool stuff to show off and music to help get things started.

We all get to see neat stuff and learn something new! We'll be showing off video of the new Robot we're gonna be getting soon (fingers crossed)!

It starts around 6 PM, wraps up around 10 PM, but come whenever to 1722 15th Street, Suite C, Oakland CA 94607. Walk through the gate with the big wooden robot-cutout, and we're down a bit and on the left. Huge roll-up door and '67 Dodge van. Can't miss us.

There's parking, a (new) grill (yay!), and old grill, a big fridge, a big robot, and plenty of room.
